THE HEALING PROCESS TYPICALLY SPANS FROM 4 TO 8 WEEKS, DEPENDING ON INDIVIDUAL FACTORS SUCH AS YOUR BODY’S REGENERATIVE ABILITIES, AGE, OVERALL HEALTH, SKIN TYPE AND ADHERENCE TO PRE-CARE AND AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS. DURING THIS TIME, YOUR NEW EYEBROWS WILL GO THROUGH MULTIPLE PHRASES THROUGHOUT THE HEALING PERIOD. PLEASE BE PATIENT AND ALLOW YOUR BODY TO HEAL AT YOUR OWN PACE.
• Day 1 - 5: Brows will appear slightly thicker and darker than what you’ve expected. Sometimes may appear uneven because they may be swollen and some redness may still persist on some clients.
• 1 - 6 weeks. Your brows will dry, itch, crack, peel, and scab. Once they start flaking, some areas of the eyebrows will fade more than others and as the pigment oxidizes.
. 6-8 weeks recovery period. May include stages of swelling, tenderness, scabbing, and flaking
It’s normal for the color to fade during the healing process due to new layers of the skin forming. This is only a temporary effect.
If you strictly follow the pre-care and aftercare instructions, you can expect the color to gradually darken again in about 3−4 weeks, and it may take up to 6 weeks for the true color to fully emerge.
Please keep in mind that the outcome will also vary depending on your skin type. I cannot control the body’s healing process, so it’s important to be patient and trust in the process. If you have any concerns, please feel free to discuss them during your touch-up appointment.
On the first night before bed, gently cleanse and disinfect your eyebrows with the alcohol prep pad to remove any excess oils, blood and sebum built up from after leaving your appointment. You
may also use warm water and clean fingertips to gently cleanse. Proceed to keeping your eyebrows dry.
When you notice your eyebrows are starting to flake and peel, start applying a thin layer of the aftercare ointment provided with a clean q-tip. Continue to apply the ointment until all scabs have completely peeled off. Vaseline or Aquaphor may be applied as a protective barrier if your eyebrows will be fully submerged in water. However, it is best to avoid getting your eyebrows wet until they are fully healed. If water does come in contact, quickly pat the area dry, do not rub.
Avoid doing any strenuous physical activities that may cause sweat to run over your eyebrows for at least one week. If you have or are around pets, it's important to keep them away from a fresh tattoo for 7-10 days. As much as we love and care for them, pets harbor bacteria that can cause infection in an open wound.
During the scabbing stage, the color of your eyebrows may appear non-existent, this is what we call the
“ghosting stage.” Please do not be alarmed, the true color will gradually appear once your eyebrows are
fully healed. Allow your eyebrows to naturally flake off. It is also normal to experience itching during the scabbing phase. Please do not itch, pick, peel or rub scabs as it will result in uneven color and may cause an infection.
Do not undergo any skincare beauty treatments for at least one week after the procedure. If you plan to
wear makeup, do not apply any product directly on your eyebrows. Expect your eyebrows to be extremely bold and intense during the first week as they are healing. Once your eyebrows are healed, it will soften and appear 30-40% lighter in color. Be patient and trust the process. It may take an average of two weeks for all scabs to peel. You may resume daily activities and are able to
get them wet after the scabs are completely gone. Note: it takes 4-6 weeks for your skin to regenerate and showcase the true color of your new eyebrows.
Signs and symptoms of infection, including but not limited: redness, swelling, tenderness of the procedure site, red streaks going from the procedure site towards the heart, elevated body temperature, or purulent drainage from the procedure site. In the case of infection, please seek medical attention.
It is the client’s responsibility to thoroughly review all provided information and instructions to prevent any misinterpretation and to achieve the best possible outcomes. Adhering to both the pre-care and aftercare guidelines is essential for ensuring effective healing and enduring results.
. For 72 hours before and after your appointment, it’s important to avoid consuming alcohol, caffeine (including decaf coffee, tea, and energy drinks), high-sodium and high-sugar foods, as well as refined carbohydrates, spicy foods, and smoking. ⚠️ These substances can be irritating to the skin and may reduce the absorption of pigment, as well as potentially slow down the healing process. Additionally, they can cause bleeding, which can push out the colors and affect the overall outcome of the procedure.
▪ The use of medication such as antibiotics, antidepressants, anti-anxiety drugs, thyroid medication, Advil, ibuprofen, Motrin, aspirin, Excedrin or any other anti-inflammatory may alter the results. (Please consult with your doctor before stopping any medication).
▪ Do not work out 24 hours before treatment.
▪ Please note that women who are in or around their menstrual cycle may experience increased bleeding and heightened sensitivity to pain compared to those who are not.
▪ You should skip moisturizing or use any products/makeup on your brows 24 hours prior.
▪. No tinting for 4 weeks prior.
▪. Avoid tanning 1 week prior to your appointment.
▪ You must avoid microdermabrasion, facials, chemical peels, toners, serum, skin products that contains glycolic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid, AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acids), BHAs and Retinoids of any kind ON YOUR BROWS IMMEDIATELY. These components have the potential to strip the skin and create a barrier that may hinder ink penetration during tattooing.
It’s important to exercise caution when using skincare items such as lotions, sunscreen, cleansers, and makeup that contain these ingredients.
Although you may continue to use these products on other areas of your face, it is not advisable to use them on your brows as doing so may lead to premature pigment fading and color alteration.
If it’s your first session or first time with your artist, it is natural to feel nervous
▪ Don’t rush the appointment. The appointment is about 3-4 hours long. Sometimes more sometimes less. Please plan ahead and allow enough time. Your face is not something I want to rush on.
. It is essential that your brow muscles are relaxed. When clients constantly arch or frown, it can make it harder to do the job
You can book a free consultation if this a concern or question you may have.
I typically advise my clients to stick with their natural eyebrow shape since it usually complements their face shape best.
Prior to tattooing, I will design a customized shape that creates the symmetry and enhances your facial features. However, it’s important to keep in mind that no face is entirely symmetrical, so it’s crucial to be realistic in your expectations. Additionally, factors such as arching or frowning can contribute to the appearance of unevenness, so it’s vital to consider these dynamics.
This principle also extends to the endeavor of replicating someone else’s eyebrow shape, which may not suit your unique facial structure. We will work together to determine the best shape for you. While the final decision is ultimately yours, I’ll provide my professional opinion on what aesthetically suits you best.
If you have unrealistic expectations or are unsure about the desired outcome of permanent makeup may not be good candidates. It’s important to have a clear understanding of the procedure’s limitations and potential results.
Typically lasting approximately 3−4 hours, but it may differ depending on the specific circumstances.
The use of stencils, stickers, or thread measurements and can take around 1−2 hours to complete.
Please keep in mind, the structure of our facial bones can have varying slants, arches, and lengths on each side, and the amount of tissue can differ between the left and right sides. When clients raise their eyebrows or frown, it can present additional challenges during the design process.
If a client’s skin presents difficulties, I will take extra precautions to ensure a smooth procedure and achieve the best possible result.
I ask that you give 24 hours notice if you need to cancel your appointment.
